Back in 1977, while recuperating at my Mom's Real Estate office, with a sprained ankle, I began my career in real estate. The first home I sold, on Madison's North Side was priced at $11,000. As my carreer evolved, I worked in manufactured housing, lake property up north, new construction, and lending. With interest rates over 22%, I learned to be creative in structuring transactions. This taught me so much about people and helping them with the challenges one faces in this road of life.
While I was President of the Madison Jaycees, we raised the funds and laid the brick pathways at Olbrich Gardens. One of my best ideas was starting the 'Tunnel of Terror' at the Henry Vilas Zoo. It has evolved into a great project by the Madison Area Builder's Assn. Now called 'Halloween at the Zoo'. It has raised over $300,000 to support our free zoo. "Serving humanity is the best work in life" is a direct quote from the Jaycee Creed.
Matching needs, wants and desires is a challenge that only a professional should undertake. Bunbury & Associates is recognized as one of Dane County's top firms and I am fortunate to be a part of their success. I truly believe you get back what you give and that is why I publish 2 monthly newsletters and host an annual picnic. The print newsletter doesn't focus that much on selling anything, but is a collection of stories and quotes to make you think or smile. Check out my on-line newsletter (which is all about home ownership) by clicking that button. My annual picnic is a way of thanking my friends, clients, and other service providers for their contribution to my business.
Less than 2% of Realtors? take the time to attend the classes necessary to earn the designations I have: Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). These also require a large number of transactions to prove competency as well.
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to read this. Eric
